Greece travel report

It’s been a while – I know – but in my defence: my website was hacked by someone and I had to rebuilt the whole thing before working on the travel report of our trip in spring to Greece. But now it’s done and here it is. 🙂 What a wonderful trip – we can not wait to go back and enjoy Greeces weather, food, beaches and mountains. Still loads to see, and definitely worth it!

new webdesign

I am really excited about finally having gotten around to changing the design of landcruisingaddicts.com! Not only does this new design give me more flexibility to share my adventures and experiences with you, it is also a lot more user-friendly and more visual.

The homepage will now always showcase what’s new on the site, but will also change automatically to older topics that you might not know about yet.

Additionally – and this goes to all usability-fanatics – the menu is now in text form on the upper right corner. I came to realise that the app-like three bars in the old design might be a step too soon, as many surfers still expect that classic menu in text-form.

Last but not least the site now has a designated blog-area which is great for keeping you up to date.

All in all I am very happy about the update and am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it.

Balkans travel report

I have to admit it took a while, but now it’s finally here – after many hours of editing the GPS data and selecting 233 pictures from over 800 taken on the trip I finally managed to complete the newest addition to our travel report section: BALKANS 04/2015. We passed through five countries: Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania. One of our best trips ever! Pure adventure. Pure LandCruising.

Read all about it here.

I hope that you’ll enjoy the read and look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Get in touch – it would make my day!

Scandinavia travel report

As a follower on Facebook you might have noticed that we spent our summer holidays in Europe’s far north! Scandinavia had been on our list for a long time and we finally wanted to pack our stuff and check it our for ourselves. The low oil price made our decision even easier. It is expensive enough up there, so 2015 was a good year to take our thirsty LandCruiser up north.

The travel report contains stories, tips and important information we gathered in 4 weeks holidaying in Sweden and Norway. Driving roughly 9.000 km (from Germany and back), we saw quite a bit of these countries and have selected 250 photos that will give you an impression of what we experienced.

Winter is coming – Softgarage for my LandCruiser.

landcruisingaddicts_softgarage_01

Winter indeed is coming! And with it rain, ice and snow. Although we are currently experiencing a beautiful autumn with lovely colours, mild temperatures and little wind, I have still had quite some work to do in order to keep my LandCruiser free from fallen leaves. Why do I care? Because if you dont, they’ll stick to your car and leave ugly traces that are not easy to get rid of. Same thing goes for bird shit and the various liquids that come pouring down in winter. Of course, it’s a LandCruiser – it will obviously survive, but wouldn’t it be nice to park it in a garage where it’s nicely sheltered?

Unfortunately I don’t have a garage, so I went looking for an alternative and found softgarage – a high quality cover that protects your car from almost everything that comes falling out of the air. There are many solutions on the market and softgarage covers are not among the cheapest products but I believe they are worth it. Their 3-layer covers are soft & padded inside, breathable and weather resistant to protect your car. It’s available in various series, fabrics and colors to match everyones taste. Most items are available from stock, so shipping goes very quickly.

Although there is a car finder that makes it easy to find the right cover for your car, their system did not cover my HZJ 76. After a few
eMails with their competent support team we got this sorted out and I ordered the cover for the LandCruiser J12 model. As you can see on the pictures: it fits perfectly!

price: 106,90 EUR (including a storage bag)
